The Golden Hour

Grace Williamson

You may have heard of "The Golden Hour", but what exactly is it?

Well, it's the hour directly after sunrise, or directly before sunset, when the sun is low in the sky and the light is soft.

Why is it so revered?

The light it casts causes a beautiful glow on everything, and it doesn't cast harsh shadows like midday sun can. There is the opportunity for lovely sunset silhouette photographs, especially if it's a little cloudy when they reflect the sun back to Earth.

So if you're getting married, consider having your couple portraits at this stunning time of day!
