Sunny Spring Wedding

It's been a while, but weddings are back on! I was so flattered to be hired to shoot the wedding of Joanna and Eric in April. The ceremony was at Bradgate Park outside of Leicester, done by www.myperfectceremony.co.uk, and the little reception was at the Great Central Railway in Loughborough.

It was a wonderful day! With only 15 people it was very intimate and relaxed, and everyone said that they couldn't believe how perfect the weather was. Warm, sunny, not a cloud to be seen. Handy for an outdoor wedding!

Joanna and Eric were smiling all day, and frankly so was I. I had such a good time! In the morning I felt really nervous as it had been quite a while since my last wedding, but as soon as I had my cameras in my hand I was in my element.

The gorgeous sunlight wasn't the best from a photography point of view (harsh shadows around eyes and under noses, and squinting!) but I shot a lot with the sun behind everyone to get a lovely rim light. Not usually one to blow my own trumpet, but I feel like I've definitely improved!

The reception on the train platform was brilliant. A simple set up of the table in a rustic environment, with the steam train along side. It was just perfect. Joanna and Eric had a grand entrance down the wooden staircase, and had a delicious 5 course meal.

There's not much more to say. It was wonderful and exciting and beautiful, and I am so glad to be behind the camera again!
