Summer Shoot Outfit Tips

It's finally summer! Blue skies, fluffy clouds, a warm breeze, ice cream, beaches, sunshine...

What better weather for having a fun photoshoot?

Summer photoshoots are a great way to enjoy the weather and capture memories, whether alone, with friends, or with family.

So what do you wear on these occasions? Here's a few tips to bear in mind :)

Colour pop

If there's ever a time to bring out the bright colours, it's summer. Bright yellows, reds, blues, greens, and pinks stand out in photographs. A bright top under a jacket with jeans, or a lovely summery dress really work well.

Doll up

How many excuses do you get to throw on your best outfit, doll yourself up, and strut your stuff? Maybe weddings, birthdays, and Christmas? Well, a summer shoot is another! If you're having your photo taken, why not bring out the big guns and look your absolute amazing best?

Accessorise

Accessories are a great way to bring focus to a photoshoot. It could be a big handbag, a scarf, umbrella, necklace, hat... Whatever it is, it should accentuate your personality and style.

Style together

This is important for groups. Unless you are specifically having a huge contrast in clothing, it's a good idea to have the same style as each other. Not saying you need to dress identically; but if some of you are in casual t-shirts and shorts and the other half are in tuxedos then it might look a little unusual.

But most of all... Wear what you are comfortable in!

There's nothing worse than wearing something you don't feel right in, both physically and mentally. If you wear clothes that are too tight, too baggy, too short or long, or just ill-fitting, it will show in photos. Also, if you wear something that fits fine but isn't "you" then your discomfort will show in your poses and attitude. If you like simple clothes, wear simple clothes. If you like flouncy clothes, wear flouncy clothes. Your confidence is the best thing you can show!
